Hip & Knee Packaging Solutions
AQF Medical design and manufacture ISO Class 8 cleanroom custom engineered foam & thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) packaging solutions for the Hip & Knee implant market. Our ISO Class 8 cleanroom manufactured foam & TPU packaging solutions provide excellent puncture and abrasion resistance while also ensuring compatibility with ETO , Gamma, E-Beam and Autoclave sterilisation processes.
Blood Filtration Filters
AQF Medical design and manufacture reticulated polyurethane foam filters for Autotransfusion systems and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) devices. Our ISO Class 8 cleanroom blood filter solutions are widely used in devices around the world and we offer a range of foam filters with pore size from 10ppi to 80ppi (pores per inch).
Negative Pressure Wound Therapy
AQF Medical is one of the world’s largest suppliers of reticulated polyurethane foam dressings to companies in the Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) market. Our ISO Class 8 cleanroom NPWT dressings help improve wound healing by removing wound exudate, optimising blood flow, decreasing tissue oedema and bacterial count, and actively promoting tissue granulation.
Heat & Moisture Exchange Filters
AQF Medical manufacture a range of Heat and Moisture Exchange (HME) foam filters with particular focus on consistent pore size. We develop and manufacture customised HME foam components in a range of sizes, porosities and densities to meet each customer’s individual requirements.
Woundcare Dressings
AQF Medical work with industry leading foam manufacturers to identify the most suitable products for use in woundcare dressings. One of the main goals of foam woundcare dressings is to create a moist environment conducive to wound healing. AQF Medical offer a range of high performance medical grade, open cell, hydrophilic polyurethane foams with high absorbent and retention characteristics.
Wicking, Filtering & Dispensing
The right foam for the right application is a key principal within AQF Medical. Properties such as material, chemistry, pore size, density, open or closed cell structure, all have to be considered. The key properties of the foam used will depend entirely on the application that it is being used for. Some of the most common applications that are enabled and can be controlled by technical foam include the following:
- Filtration of air and fluids
- Wicking and capillary flow of fluids
- Reservoiring and delivery of fluid
Skin Prep Foam
AQF Medical can support your design and development work for Antiseptic Applicators used in preoperative skin preparation. The medical foams and laminates absorb the released anti-microbial agent and then reservoir and deliver a smooth flow of this fluid to the skin. The gentle-friction of the cellular scrub surface on the disposable medical devices, based on the physical characteristics of the foam, helps the solution penetrate the skin. Our skin prep foams are manufactured in ISO Class 8 cleanrooms.
Mammography Pad Foam
AQF Medical are a leading supplier of specialty polyurethane foam and advanced polymer products to companies involved in the manufacture of finished medical devices and healthcare products. We can support your design and development work for Mammography Pads with foam materials that offer different texture and density characteristics.
Flexible Thermoplastic Polyurethane Packaging Solutions
Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a high strength, aromatic biomedical polymer with an impressive combination of mechanical properties and biological compatibility. With its excellent mechanical, puncture and abrasion properties, TPU is an ideal material for use in many orthopaedic device applications.
Wound Debridement Foam
Wound debridement is the process of removing dead tissue from wounds. Wounds can heal faster if dead tissue is removed. Dead tissue can trap bacteria and as a result bacteria may lead to wound infections. Mechanical wound debridement when properly performed leads to improvement of microcirculation in the wound, reduction in inflammation and lowering of the level of metalloproteinases.
For over 40 years AQF Medical have been providing technical foam & flexible thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) solutions to medical device companies around the world. With production plants in Ireland and Asia, we can say with confidence that here at AQF Medical we can deliver innovative solutions to meet your medical foam & TPU packaging requirements.
